Open VMware Workstation 8, Navigate to File-New Virtual Machine,
Select Typical Configuration & click Next,
Specify path for your Windows 8 Developer Preview ISO file,
In Guest Operating System Select "Microsoft Windows" & in Version Select "Windows 7 64-bit"
Click Next to Continue,
Click on Yes, as we are going to activate Windows manually after installation.
Specify Virtual machine name & vmdk file location & click Next.
Specify the Disk Size & click next.
Click finish to continue, as discussed in Vmware Workstation 8 Windows Cannot Read the settings from the unattend answer file article remove/disconnect floppy drive from ypur Windows 8 Virtual machine.
Click on "Power on this Virtual Machine" option.
Click Next to continue,
Click on Install Now,
Accept Microsoft License terms to continue,
Click on Custom installation,
Select target disk & click on Next,
Now Windows 8 installation has started & it will take atleast 15 to 20 minutes to complete,
Now explore new world of Windows 8!!!
Specify path for your Windows 8 Developer Preview ISO file,
