Download OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion Developer Preview 4 VMware Image and Run It on Windows 7 Computer

OS X Mountain Lion Developer Preview 4 was released for developers as build 12A239. To download Developer Preview 4, registered developers will need to log into the developer center and retrieve a download code which can be used within the Mac App Store. Apple's OS X Mountain Lion version 10.8 is the ninth and next major release of OS X, Apple's desktop and server operating system for Macintosh computers.

Apple has hinted at WWDC2012 that Developer Preview 4 was close to the release candidate, and then announced that OS X 10.8 will be available to everyone through the Mac App Store next month for $20. Though DP4 is the most stable beta release yet, it still has a fair amount of bugs and is therefore only appropriate for developers to use.

 System requirements:

  • Mac with an Intel x64

  • 2GB of RAM

  • Language: Multilingual


OS X Mountain Lion DP4 VMware Image Changelog

  • - Apple dropped support for 32-bit mode in DP2 of Mountain Lion, so make sure you keep the VMware Settings flagged as "Mac OS X 10.7 64-bit"  otherwise no bootable medium will be detected. We are currently working on a workaround for this.

  • - Completely Vanilla build. Drivers are purely patched Apple files.

  • - Continued new packaging for smaller download.

  • - Fresh installation of 10.8 DP4, everything was fixed during installation.

  • - Make sure VT is turned on in your BIOS, if available.

  • - No comment on AMD systems. Same applies as previously mentioned here.

  • - Reasonably quick boot time, about 1 minute 15 seconds on average.

  • - Recommended you run on the latest version of VMware, as that's what it was tested on, and apparently fixes Apple logo stalling.

  • - Several driver patches to allow as best a universal build as possible.

  • - Snappier system. Clicks receive response almost (if not) instantaneously.

  • - We uploaded an updated VMware Tools to our Mediafire folder here. Hopefully these should work better than in the last 10.8 image.

Now rumors for the third generation iPAD 3 are over and rumors about Apple iPhone are in full swing. Apple Inc's new iPhone will have a sharper and bigger 4.6-inch "retina" display and is set to be launched around the second quarter, a South Korean media reported on Thursday.

Many customers have asked for a larger screen in their iPhone, however, the iPhone 4S stayed with the iPhone 4?s form-factor. The iPhone 4/4S feature a 3.5-inch screen, that some say is too small compared to many Android devices.

Download Apple Safari 5.1.4 for Windows and Mac

Apple has released Safari 5.1.4 for Mac OS X and Windows platforms. Apple has improved JavaScript performance on OS X Lion and added several new enhancements and tweaks in the Snow Leopard version of the browser, as well as on Windows.

Other changes (affecting all versions of the browser, including that for Windows PC customers) include:

- Preserve links in PDFs saved from webpages
- Fix an issue that could make Flash content appear incomplete after using gesture zooming
- Fix an issue that could cause the screen to dim while watching HTML5 video
- Improve stability, compatibility and start up time when using extensions
- Allow cookies set during regular browsing to be available after using Private Browsing
- Fix an issue that could cause some data to be left behind after pressing the “Remove All Website Data” button.

Safari 5.1.4 requires OS X Lion 10.7.3, Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8, Windows XP SP2, Windows Vista, or Windows 7.

Apple Planning to Launch Smaller iPad by End of 2012?

In a report from The Korea Times an Samsung executive said that Apple is planning to launch new Small iPAD by end 2012.

Despite ongoing patent battles in the courts, Apple is planning to buy parts worth a record $11 billion from Samsung Electronics this year, an official from Apple's one Korea-based parts supplier said Sunday.

Rumors about the exact amount hover above $9 billion, up from $7.8 billion last year.

``The amount of the current contract is around $9.7 billion," the official said, adding that the popularity of Apple products lines the pockets of Samsung as well. He said that the amount may go up to $11 billion, depending on the demand for Apple products.

The official asked not to be identified, which is not surprising.

The procurement will reach a new annual record. The amount is expected to increase until at least 2014 under the current terms of their contract.

Apple will buy chips from Samsung for its new iPads with Long-Term Evolution (LTE).

``The contract is expected to rise to $11 billion by the end of this year as Apple is planning to release a smaller iPad, probably with a 7.85-inch screen, and to sell more of its MacBook Air PCs using Samsung’s faster solid state drive (SSD) storage,’’ the official said.

Apple CEO Tim Cook agreed with Samsung Electronics Chief Operating Officer (COO) Lee Jay-yong to use the Korean firm’s components until the end of 2014 during Lee’s visit to his office in Cupertino, Calif., late last year.

The iPhone and iPad maker bought $7.8 billion worth of parts from Samsung in 2011 including displays, mobile application processors (APs), NAND flash chips and mobile DRAMs _ making it Samsung’s single biggest customer as well as nemesis.

Open up a new iPad and inside are Samsung’s mobile APs, displays and memory chips.

``Apple’s top management still believes Samsung is the only parts maker in the world ideally-positioned to meet all of the critical conditions _ better pricing, technolgically-enhanced products, on-time delivery and the capability to immediately respond to any emergency situation,’’ said another source.

Apple making large purchases of Samsung parts makes the Korean firm more competitive over, among other things, pricing.
Samsung is confident in its dispute with Apple due to its status as a top supplier.

“We don’t see any negative impact on the partnership with Apple because of the legal issues,’’ Jun Dong-soo, head of Samsung memory unit, said recently.

It will also supply flat-screens utilizing new PLS-based LCD technology for smaller iPads, while it’s in talks with Apple to ship more LCDs to be used in the next iPhone this year.

``Samsung is putting huge resources into becoming the world’s first OLED panel supplier to Apple for use in i-branded devices. Apple has the intent to use Samsung’s OLED technology, however, Apple doubts the output commitment for OLED screens by Samsung,’’ the source said.

Apple’s new iPad is made using Samsung’s QXGA panels. Samsung’s biggest rivals, local competitor LG Display and Japan’s Sharp aren’t ready to supply the panels as a result of manufacturing problems, said market research firm IHS iSuppli.

Apple has sent out invites for an event next week at which the company is expected to announce the next iPad.
We can expect below features from new iPad3,

The event, which has the tagline "We have something you really have to see. And touch", will take place at the Yerba Buena Centre for the Arts in San Francisco at 10am, local time.


1. The iPad 3 is expected to have a sharper resolution screen at 2048 pixels by 1536 pixels, with double the resolution of its predecessor - the iPad 2.
2. The new iPad is reported to be powered by either a quad-core A6 processor or a dual-core A5X chip.
3. Apple is likely to bring is voice-controlled personal assistant Siri to the dubbed iPad 3. However, it seems to be quite logical and has not been a recurring rumour.
4. Reportedly, the iPad 3 could sport the same 8-megapixel camera that the iPhone 4S does. The first iPad had no camera, followed by front and back-facing cameras on the iPad2. So, the advancement is expected.
5 . If rumours are to be believed, Apple will include added RAM. If we look back, we witnessed the improvements between the iPad and iPad 2. The first generation iPad had 256MB RAM, while the iPad was launched with 512MB RAM. It is likely that Apple this time will leapfrog to a full 1GB RAM in the iPad 3.
6. A new buttonless design? Of late, reports have come that say Apple will leave off the Home button in its iPad3, which has until now been a core element of its products including the iPad, iPod touch and iPhone lines. However, this is least expected.
7. Earlier, there were reports that the next version of the software, iOS 5.1, would hit on March 9. While there is little known about it, but it is expected to include a spate of improvements like expanded foreign language support for Siri.
8. Apple's new iPad model is reported to be sold by wireless carriers including AT&T Inc. and Verizon Wireless.
9. It is not only the iPad 3 that is highly expected to be launched at the event. There are rumours that the company might come up with the improved Apple TV. According to reports, the Apple TV set-top box sold out at Best Buy's website led to speculation that the company might come up with its new and improved Apple TV, possibly with 1080p video support, to replace the old box. The current model supports only 720 HD.
10. Rationally, if the next-gen iPad is launced, the prices of the iPad 2 are likely to go down. So, those who are planning to buy the Apple iPad 2, are suggested to hold on.

Downlaod Mac OS X Unlocker for VMware

The package is a combination of the Unlocker code written by Zenith432 plus some
scripts written by myself that wrap the actual unlocker code. 

It has been tested against:

* Workstation 8.0 on Windows and Linux (32 & 64-bit versions)
* Player 4.0 on Windows and Linux (32 & 64-bit versions)
* Fusion 4.0 on Snow Leopard and Lion
* ESXi 5.0

Downlaod Mac OS X Unlocker for VMware

The patch code carries out the following modification dependent on the product
being patched:

* Fix vmware-vmx and derivatives to allow Mac OS X to boot
* Fix vmwarebase .dll or .so to allow Apple to be selected during creation
* Copy darwin.iso if needed to VMware folder

Note that not all products recognise the darwin.iso via install tools menu item.
You will have to manually mount the darwin.iso for example on Workstation.

Also Player is missing vmware-vmx-debug and vmware-vmx-stats files and so an 
error is shown during patching as the files are not found. This can be safely 
ignored.

In all cases make sure VMware is not running, and any background guests have 
been shutdown.

Windows
----------
On Windows you will need to either run cmd.exe as Administrator or using 
Explorer right click on the command file and select "Run as administrator".

install.cmd - patches VMware and copies darwin.iso tools image to VMware
uninstall.cmd - restores VMware and removes darwin.iso tools image from VMware
