[Guide] Install Windows 8 Developer Preview on VirtualBox 4.1

Most of you already know that an Windows 8 Developer Preview is available for download. You will find the download links on Windows 8 Download Links . Today I have downloaded Windows 8 developer edition & tried to install Windows 8 on VMware Workstation 7.1, but it fails with below error,
"vcpu-0:NOT_IMPLEMENTED vmcore/vmm/intr/apic.c" as discussed in vcpu-0:NOT_IMPLEMENTED vmcore/vmm/intr/apic.c Windows 8 VMware Workstation 7 article. Solution for above error is to wait for VMware Workstation 8 which is going to launch in coming days  or to install Windows 8 under VirtualBox 4.1.
So lets get started, Windows 8 installation under VirtualBox is easy,

1. Download Virtual Box & Install it on your machine
2. Download Windows 8 Developer Preview 
3.Open Virtual Box & click on New to create a New Virtual Machine for Windows 8,

 Click Next to continue,
 Give name to your virtual machine, Select Operating System as "Microsoft Windows" & Version as "Windows 7 64-bit" & Click Next
 Assign 1GB of Ram to your Windows 8 VM,
 Select a Create a new Disk option & click on Next,
 Select "VDI (VirtualBox Disk Image)" option & click next,
 Select "Dynamically allocated" option & click next
 Specifiy the Disk Size for your Windows 8. In my case I am using 20GB,
 Click on Create to create VM disk for Windows 8.
 Click on Create to Create Windows 8 Virtual Machine.
 Right click on created Virtual Machine & Click on Start button as shown below,
 Now new Dialog box will appear, click on Next to proceed,
 Specify the Installation Media path for Windows Developer Preview, 
 Click on Start to Power On the VM,
 Click next to proceed Windows 8 installation,
 Click on Install Now option.
 Accept Microsoft License Agreement & click Next,
 Select Custom Installation option,
 Select the Disk where you want to install Windows8, Click Next
 Now Windows 8 installation has started as shown below. It will take at-least 15 to 20 minutes to complete the installation.
 Installation has been completed & Windows 8 VM restarted,
For first Windows 8 boot it will ask you lot of information such email address,Machine Name, Network settings, as shown below.




Now you are ready to explore World on new Windows 8. Enjoy!!!
